Spent 13 hours in the sound studio with mix master Chris. I had no idea how much fun this would be. Chris plays with the buttons and makes sounds out of air and I sit back with unlimited diet coke and attentive ears, trying to be a Director. But seriously, the sound. is. incredible.
The bro came to Bklyn and we spent some quality sibling time together including a lovely brunch at one of my fave spots Egg.
Made some DVDs of WIDOW by the skin of my teeth and headed down to Tampa for Thanksgiving time. My dog is 16 and wears diapers but is still in surprisingly good spirits.
The Premiere went off with very few hitches and I couldn’t be more pleased. At least 80 seats were filled, my intro and q+a’s mostly made sense and in general people seemed to really enjoy themselves. After the film and the behind the scenes montage I was approached by many of the audience members. Almost everyone I talked to said that they didn’t want the film to end, which is the best thing I could ask for. The night gave me the push I need to keep going in this non-linear and often idealistic direction.
And then of course, the after party. Consisting of a fully stocked abandoned bar, summer camp games and leftover Evos chicken wings, was possibly the best way I could have (n)ever imagined to end the already magical night.
